EXCLUSIVE MattE BLACK STAINLESS STEEL

We start by using an autocatalytic plating process to apply the matte black surface finish to the stainless steel. We then laser etch text and graphics and cut areas and patterns away using the same process as our original metal business cards. The results are truly spectacular.

CUT & ETCH - PANTONE® POLYMER INFILL

Using our advanced photochemical milling process, we can etch and cut the metal with incredible precision. This allows for intricate patterns, perforations and grilles.

Our metal cards are now available with optional Pantone polymer infills and surface prints. Once etched, we fill the recess with a durable, flexible, coloured polymer.

Custom Shaping

Not only can we cut through the steel, but we can also alter the shape of the card itself by cutting away metal from the perimeter. Moreover, as long as the desired shape fits within the dimensions of a standard card, there is no additional charge.

THREE THICKNESSES

Our black metal cards are now available in your choice of 300, 500 or 800-micron thick stainless steel. The 300 micron option is thinner than a standard credit card but, being stainless steel, they have about the same rigidity when flexed between thumb and finger. The 800 micron cards — the thickest we produce — are extremely rigid and difficult to flex. The 500 micron sits somewhere between the two.

  1. Text and graphics are laser etched into the surface of the metal, cutting through the matte black surface and exposing the steel to acid.

  2. Once the surface of the matte finish has been etched away the lighter steel beneath is exposed, ensuring perfect contrast and legibility.

  3. Precision cut-throughs are achieved by chemically etching into the same position on the front and back of the stainless steel, until the two areas meet, forming a hole.

Free Design Service

We provide a completely free design service to all customers who do not already have artwork. Once we have collected a few pieces of information, our design team will put together an initial concept and first draft. We then create a photo-realistic digital mockup using our innovative proofing system. This shows how the card would look once produced. Using your feedback, we make revisions until you are 100% happy with the layout.
